Clifton Park, New York, in Saratoga county, is 8 miles E of Schenectady, New York and 142 miles W of Boston, Massachusetts. The town is included in the Albany - Schenectady - Troy metropolitan area. As of the year 2000 census, 32,995 people lived in Clifton Park.

Clifton Park History

The earliest European settlers arrived in this area towards the end of the 17th century. The area was named Cliftons Park in 1707 by Naning Harmansen, who bought land from the Shenendehowa Indians in this area. The town was formally established in 1828 from parts of the Town of Halfmoon. The name was modified to Clifton Park in 1829.
