Coram, New York is 14 miles NE of Brentwood, New York and 52 miles E of New York, New York. It is in Suffolk county. The town is part of the Nassau - Suffolk metro area. The population of Coram is 34,923.

Coram History

Coram was once known as Wincoram and was inhabited by Native American tribes. The present name of the community was derived from an Indian term meaning "a passage between hills." The settlement began to grow between 1728 and 1739 and was designated as a village of the Town of Brookhaven in December of 1749. The Town of Brookhaven was incorporated in 1686.
