Farmingville History
Farmingville is a census-designated place and hamlet in the Town of Brookhaven. The area was originally settled in by the Algonquian-speaking Native Americans. Early English settlement began in the mid 1600s. Farmingville grabbed national attention because of its anti-immigration sentiments. A number of members of the community have protested the lack of immigration-law enforcement policies in the hamlet.
