Kenmore History

The village of Kenmore makes up the southern part of the Town of Tonawanda. Joseph Ellicott was one of the first residents in this region. He was appointed by the Holland Land Company as the resident land agent for the area in 1800, and began selling land to settlers shortly after. The New York State Legislature officially founded the Town of Tonawanda in April of 1836.
