Lynbrook History
Lynbrook was originally known as Bloomfield. It was later renamed Pearsall's Corners after the a local General Store, which was a famous stage coach stop for those traveling from New York City to Long Island. It was incorporated as a village in 1911. The present name was derived by exchanging the two syllables in Brooklyn.
