Manorville History

The present day Manorville was originally a small farming community. It was a part of the 1693 Manor St. George, a land grant given to Col. William "Tangier" Smith for his service as the governor of Tangier, Africa. The community adopted its present name in 1844. In the same year, the Long Island Railroad established a station at Manorville known as the St. George's Manor. Manorville is a census-designated hamlet in Suffolk County.
