Massena, New York is 127 miles N of Utica, New York and 243 miles NE of Buffalo, New York. It is in St Lawrence county. The population of the village is 11,209.
Massena History
The area now known as the Village of Massena was originally inhabited by Native Americans. It was first settled in by Europeans in the late 1700s and was incorporated on March 3, 1802. The village was named after French general André Masséna. Lumbering was one of the prominent industries of the area at the time of its inception.
