North Massapequa History

North Massapequa is a census designated hamlet located in the Town of Oyster Bay, which was originally a part of the colony of New Amsterdam. Oyster Bay became a town around 1667 and then a part of New York City in 1898. The town includes around 18 incorporated villages and more than 16 unincorporated hamlets. Some of the notable residents of North Massapequa are Steve Guttenberg, the American actor and comedian; and Marilyn Singer, the award winning children's author.
