South Farmingdale History

South Farmingdale is a census-designated hamlet in Nassau County, which was founded in 1899. The community is located in the Town of Oyster Bay and was originally a part of the colony of New Amsterdam. Oyster Bay gained the status of a town in 1667 and was merged with New York City in 1898.
